HAVE YOU EVER TRIED A VINTAGED CROCHET STITCH?

This summer, try the vintage "Hairpin Crochet Lace" stitch pattern. This pattern works up in panels. Then, work other stitch patterns to create a myriad of wonderful and beautiful patterns. This is a "Throwback Thursday" topic to share with others who are looking for a new challenge. I was challenged by my first niece, back in 2023, to see if I could crochet a beach cover-up. Yup, she sent a picture of someone else's project. It was jaw-droppingly sharp! I HAD NEVER IN MY LIFE crocheted the hairpin stitch. I had seen pictures of it and said to myself, one day you will try this! That NEVER happened. I turned to my trusted research buddies in crime, Pinterest and YouTube! I contacted my buddy Amazon and purchased the needed supplies. Again, I said, "Self, have you lost your MIND?" But the more I practiced, the easier the stitch got. Then I said to myself, "WHOA BABY," this beach cover-up just might be made after 50 - something years of wishing I could make this crochet pattern. Finally, after feeling some confidence, I added a crochet chain pattern from a wonderful crochet designer, "Ledense Crochet," off YouTube. I was happy; my niece better have been happy. I'm saying this because I never saw her wear the three-piece outfit ever...
